Governor Scott Appoints David C. Koenig to the Brevard County Court

Tallahassee, Fla.- Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of David Koenig to the Brevard County Court.

Koenig, 50, of Cocoa, has been an Assistant State Attorney in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit since 1990. From 2001-2005, Koenig served as the Juvenile Division Chief. Since 2005, Koenig has been the prosecutor responsible for making the charging decisions in child abuse and sex crime cases in Brevard County. Koenig received his bachelor’s degree from University of Florida and his law degree from University of Miami. He fills a vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Kelly J. McKibben to the Circuit Court.

Governor Rick Scott said, “I am confident David will be a great addition to the Brevard County bench. He has shown dedication and commitment to public service throughout his career and will continue to serve Florida families with integrity and a passion for the law and justice.”
