Governor Scott Appoints Gerald Paul Hill, II to the Polk County Court

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Gerald Paul Hill, II to the Polk County Court.

Hill, 39, of Lakeland, has practiced with Frost, Van den Boom & Smith, P.A. since 2011. Hill began his legal career in private practice in Gainesville in 2003, and has maintained a general civil practice at firms in Polk County since 2005. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University, his law degree from St. Thomas University, and his Master of Law in Taxation from the University of Florida. Hill serves on the board of directors of the Imperial Symphony Orchestra and the Friends of Tenoroc, Inc., community organizations in Polk County. He fills a vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Reinaldo Ojeda to the Circuit Court.

Governor Rick Scott said, “Jerry Hill will make a great judge on the Polk County bench. During his legal career, he has demonstrated the qualities essential to a good judge –humility and a respect for the rule of law.”
