First Lady Ann Scott visits all 67 Florida Counties

This week, Florida First Lady Ann Scott completed her tour of Florida’s 67 counties with a visit to James M. Anderson Elementary School in Dixie County.

First Lady Ann Scott said, “As soon as Rick became governor, I knew I wanted to make the most of my role as First Lady and I immediately began traveling the state. I’ve now visited schools, hospitals, military bases, state parks and libraries from the Panhandle to the Keys, and while they are all unique, one thing has remained consistent with each stop – the amazing people.”

While at James M. Anderson Elementary School, First Lady Ann Scott read to Mrs. Jessica O’Neal’s first grade class and Mrs. Ginger Jenkins’ third grade class where she read to students, answered their questions about life in the Florida Governor’s Mansion and shared photos of her family.

In her role, First Lady Ann Scott has chosen to bring attention to topics that are important to her. She has focused on the importance of reading and literacy; bringing attention to the foster children who are available for adoption in our state; encouraging children and families to lead healthy lifestyles; and thanking military families for their service and sacrifice.
