Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis was awarded the Suzanne R. Plakon Humanitarian Award for leadership in Alzheimer’s Advocacy. The Governor was joined by Representative Scott Plakon, Florida Department of Elder Affairs Secretary Richard Prudom and representatives of the Alzheimer’s Association.
“I’m incredibly humbled to receive this honor and I am proud to say my administration has and continues to take significant steps to support Floridians living with Alzheimer’s,” said Governor DeSantis. “As long as I’m Governor, I’m committed to ensuring our state assists these individuals in getting the care they deserve and prioritizes the advancement of research needed for this disease.”
