Governor Scott Appoints Dawn Nichols to the Seventh Judicial Circuit *

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Dawn Nichols to the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court.

Nichols, 48, of Ormond Beach, is a Board certified Marital and Family Law attorney. She has practiced with Nichols & Ahmed, P.A. since 1996. From 1994-1996, she practiced with Rice & Rose, P.A., and in 1993, she served as an assistant public defender in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. In 2006, Nichols was appointed by Governor Bush to serve on the Seventh Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission. Nichols received her bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Florida. She fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Hubert Grimes.

Governor Rick Scott said, “Dawn’s family law experience will serve the citizens of the Seventh Circuit very well. I am proud to appoint her today, and I am confident that she will make a great addition to the Seventh Judicial Circuit bench.”
