TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Vicki Davis, Christa Luna, Dr. Madhu Sasidhar, and John “Brantley” Schirard and the reappointment of Dr. Melissa Kindell and Milo Thornton to the Indian River State College District Board of Trustees.
Vicki Davis
Davis is the Martin County Supervisor of Elections. She is the current President of the Salvation Army of Martin County and previously served as a Martin County School Board Member. Davis earned her bachelor’s degree in public administration from Barry University.
 
Christa Luna
Luna is the President of Gilbert Chevrolet Company, Inc. She is the Vice Chair of General Motors Women’s Dealers Advisory Council and is a current member of the Economic Council of Okeechobee. Luna earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
 
Dr. Madhu Sasidhar
Dr. Sasidhar is a Physician with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a former member of the Ohio State Respiratory Care Board. Dr. Sasidhar earned his bachelor’s degree from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research in India, his master’s degree in business administration from Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires in France, and his Doctor of Medicine from Columbia University.
John “Brantley” Schirard
Schirard is the Production Manager of Blue Goose Growers and the Owner of Southern Harvesting and Schirard Citrus, Inc. He is a member of the Florida Farm Bureau Federation and serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Lucie County Farm Bureau. Schirard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
Dr. Melissa Kindell
Dr. Kindell is a Pediatric Dentist and Owner of Everglades Pediatric Dentistry. She is President of the Board at Martha’s House and serves on the Executive Board of the Economic Council of Okeechobee. Dr. Kindell earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology and cell science and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida.
Milo Thornton
Thornton is a Deputy Chief with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. He is a board member for New Horizons of the Treasure Coast, the Gifford Youth Achievement Center, and Crossover Mission. Thornton earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Indian River State College.
These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
