Pompano Beach, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis visited John Knox Village of Pompano Beach, one of the first long-term care facilities in Broward County to begin vaccinating staff and residents for COVID-19. The Governor was joined by Florida Division of Emergency Management Director Jared Moskowitz and Director of the Florida Department of Health in Broward County Dr. Paula Thaqi.

During the visit, Governor DeSantis met Vera Leip, a retired schoolteacher and 88-year old resident of John Knox Village, who became one of the first long-term care facility residents in the country to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
