Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Stephanie Smith, Allison Kinney, Sophia Eccleston, Emmanuel Tormes, Patsy Sanchez, Samuel Robbin, Jonathan Miller and Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson to the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors.

Stephanie Smith

Smith, of Tallahassee, is the Senior Director of Government Relations for Anthem, Inc. Previously, she was a Senior Public Policy Manager with Uber and a Director of Public Affairs for AT&T. She has served on the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors since 2017 and also volunteers her time with the United Way. Smith earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University.

Allison Kinney

Kinney, of Tallahassee, is the Vice President of State Government Affairs for HCA Healthcare. Previously, she was a Senior Director with Charter Communications, Vice President and Director of Government Relations for OneMain Financial, Vice President of State Government Relations for TD Bank and Assistant Vice President of Government Relations for the Florida Bankers Association. Kinney volunteers her time with the Children’s Home Society of Florida and serves on the board of Associated Industries of Florida. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Auburn University.

Sophia Eccleston

Eccleston, of Wellington, is an external affairs manager with Florida Power and Light. Previously, she worked for Halliburton and KBR Inc., in the Middle East and Africa. Eccleston is an Army veteran who also serves as a commissioner on the Florida Commission on the Status of Women. She has volunteered her time with the Homeless Coalition of Palm Beach County, Executive Women of the Palm Beaches Foundation, Florida Women’s Business Center and the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. Eccleston earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Armstrong Atlantic State University and her master of business administration from American Intercontinental University.

Emmanuel Tormes

Tormes, of Oviedo, is Senior Manager of Government Operations at The Boeing Company. His previous work experience includes time with the State of Florida, Orange County Mayor’s office and Seminole County government. Tormes volunteers his time with the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce, Florida Defense Contractors Association and the U.S. Global Leadership Council Florida Advisory Committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

Patsy Sanchez

Sanchez, of Tallahassee, is the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the University of South Florida. She also serves on the University of South Florida’s Latin Community Advisory Committee, Leadership Alliance Advisory Board and as a member of the Hispanic Leaders Association. Born in Cuba, her family opposed the Castro regime and fled to the United States where Sanchez learned English and began her schooling. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of South Florida.

Samuel Robbin

Robbin, of Plantation, is the President and CEO of National Jets, Inc. He is active in his community serving as Chairman of The Greater Ft. Lauderdale Alliance and as a board member with The Broward Workshop, CareerSource Broward and the National Business Aircraft Association. Robbin is also active with the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Robbin earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Florida.

Jonathan Miller

Miller, of Sanford, is the Senior Director of Advocacy for Majority Strategies. He previously served in higher education as a Director of External Affairs and Director of Government and Community Relations. His volunteer experience includes time with the Florida Chamber of Commerce and Florida Telehealth Association. Miller earned his bachelor’s degree in justice studies from Georgia Southern University and his master’s degree in political science from the University of Central Florida.

Jennifer O’Flannery Anderson

Anderson, of Fort Lauderdale, is the President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Broward. Previously, she was a Vice President at Nova Southeastern University, a Vice President and Foundation Executive Director at Florida Atlantic University and President and CEO of the United Way of Broward County. She has volunteered her time with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Chamber of the Palm Beaches, PACE Center for Girls and Leadership Florida. Anderson earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Florida State University, her master’s degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida and her doctor of philosophy in public administration from Florida Atlantic University.
