Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Ed Armstrong, III and John Mitten to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board.

Elijah “Ed” Armstrong, III
Armstrong, of Dunedin, is an attorney with Hill Ward Henderson, P.A. Previously, he was an attorney with Johnson, Pope, Bokor, Ruppel & Burns and served as a Trustee at Pasco Hernando State College. Armstrong is a member of the American, Florida, Hillsborough and Clearwater Bar Associations. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland and his juris doctor from Vanderbilt University.

John Mitten
Mitten, of Brooksville, is the franchise owner of Chick-fil-A in Spring Hill and a Hernando County Commissioner. He is active in his community with the Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Hernando County, YMCA of Hernando County, Hope Children’s Home and Jericho Road Ministries. Mitten earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
