Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Roberto Alonso to the Miami Dade College District Board of Trustees.

Alonso, of Miami Lakes, is vice president of business development at Costa Realtors Corp., a commercial real estate firm, a position he has held since 2019. Previously, he was the director of partnerships and solution engineering at SchoolMint, a school choice and student enrollment software company, from 2018 to 2019. Alonso has served as a board member of the Miami-Dade County Planning Advisory Board since 2018. He earned his associate’s degree from Miami Dade College and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida International University. Alonso is appointed to a four-year term.

This appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
