Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Zachariah “Reggie” Zachariah, Jr. and reappointment of Matthew Caldwell to the Broward College District Board of Trustees.

Zachariah “Reggie” Zachariah, Jr.

Zachariah, of Ft. Lauderdale, is a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig, LLP., where he specializes in private equity transactions, mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he was a clerk with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida from 2009 until 2011. Zachariah has previously served on the Judicial Nominating Commission of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit from 2012 until 2018. Zachariah earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and his juris doctorate from the University of Florida. Zachariah is appointed to a four-year term.

Matthew Caldwell

Caldwell, of Ft. Lauderdale, is the president and chief executive officer of the Florida Panthers Hockey Club. Previously, he was the vice president of the investment management division at Goldman Sachs from 2010 until 2014. He served in the United States Army from 2002 until 2007. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the United States Military Academy West Point and his master’s degree in business management and juris doctorate from Northwestern University. Caldwell is reappointed to a four-year term.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
