Tallahassee, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Joel Schleicher to the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Schleicher, of Sarasota, is an entrepreneur and operator of technology companies selling enterprise solutions. He has served on the Southwest Florida Water Management District since 2017. Currently, Schleicher is the executive chairman of Focal Point Data Risk, an IT risk management consulting firm which he founded in 2013. He is originally from Minnesota, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Schleicher is reappointed for a four-year term.

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
