Gainesville, Fla. – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis participated in a roundtable discussion outlining his environmental priorities regarding $625 million for Everglades restoration, the appointment of a Chief Science Officer, and a strategic plan to combat blue-green algae and red tide. The Governor was joined by Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary Noah Valenstein, Chief Science Officer designee Dr. Tom Frazer, and University of Florida President Dr. Kent Fuchs.

“Since day one, my administration has been laser focused on addressing our pressing environmental challenges and committed to science-based solutions,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “We will not take our foot off the gas. My administration will continue to keep environmental protection at the forefront of our approach to leave Florida better than we found it for generations to come.”
